Samsung Watch debate: watch box debate is over

Samsung’s latest smartwatch, the Galaxy S8, is now officially on sale in Australia, but it is being hotly debated about the best Samsung Watch box to buy.

Samsung’s $299 smartwatch features a curved screen, a curved back, a fingerprint scanner and a rear camera that has a 3D lens, allowing users to take photos and video in a variety of angles.

It also includes a waterproof case, NFC connectivity and wireless charging capabilities.

Samsung also introduced its first 4G-capable smartphone last year.

However, many people have been comparing it to Apple’s Apple Watch.

“The Apple Watch is still king of the hill, but Samsung’s new Samsung Watch is a real contender in the smartwatch space,” the Australian Retailers Association (ARMA) said in a statement.

“There’s no doubt that the Samsung Watch has an impressive suite of features, and it’s still cheaper than the competition.”

The ARMA has been calling for a “watch box” to replace Apple’s “watch”, and the ARMA said it would be launching its own “watch debate” in January, with the aim of finding a “good, reliable” smartwatch for Australians.

“It’s going to be interesting to see how much of a difference there is between the two, as both are very similar in terms of design and technology,” said ARMA chief executive Matthew Hargreaves.

“We want to see a fair and competitive smartwatch industry and the Samsungs are the obvious winners in that arena.”

The Apple Watch has been a big hit with consumers in Australia and the US, and many retailers have been pushing for more people to buy their products through the Apple Watch app.

In the US alone, Apple Watch sales reached a record high of US$1.2 billion in the first three months of 2018, according to comScore data.

Apple’s Watch is now available in 25 countries and territories.
